Over the years, the Lord has been gracious to stir in the hearts of so many Summit folks to care for the orphan and the fatherless.  As people have stepped forward to serve, to host, to adopt, to love, to give, we’ve seen the Lord’s faithfulness to bless our efforts within the Every Child Initiative.  In looking toward the future, we sensed very clearly that part of stewarding what God has entrusted to us meant partnering with and resourcing other churches to care for the vulnerable.

...Part of stewarding what God has entrusted to us meant partnering with and resourcing other churches to care for the vulnerable.

As part of that effort, this past week, Summit had the opportunity to host pastors and leaders from 6 different churches around the country. We spent 2 days together seeking the Lord on how He would have each of our churches engage in caring for vulnerable children.  We were led through a time of envisioning, praying, and planning. Each church had the opportunity to share ideas and learn from each other as we challenged one another with all that the Lord could do in each of our geographies. All 6 churches left the time together with a clear blueprint for where they hope to lead their people and an eagerness to get going after the things the Lord had laid on their hearts.

Our hope it to be able to continue coming alongside of other churches that are striving to care for kids from hard places.  We are grateful for the chance to resource them and link arms in order to better serve each of our churches and communities. Caring for the orphan and the fatherless is the heartbeat of our heavenly Father, so we are grateful for the opportunity to galvanize like-minded churches and together, contend for the good of the least of these.
